Science Exchange Presenters Info

The 2018 National Science Exchange (SX) will feature presentations on selected research projects, chosen based on impact or innovation.

Plenary presenters have been notified if they are required to present and have been asked to submit an abstract and bio by Monday 16 April 2018

The 2018 SX will also include Fast Science research snapshots of a maximum three minutes in length, accompanied by one slide only.

All PBCRC researchers, industry or government partners and end-users are invited to submit an abstract and bio on a PBCRC research topic for a Fast Science presentation by Monday 16 April 2018.

Abstracts and bios

Abstracts and bios are required for both invited and Fast Science presentations and are now due. They should be prepared following the guidelines below and emailed to info@pbcrc.com.au by Monday 16 April 2018.

Abstracts should be 150 – 250 words in length, should not contain any pictures, tables, footnotes, references or commercial-in-confidence material, and should be submitted in 10pt, Verdana font, including the following details;

  • Abstract title
  • PBCRC Project Number
  • Author(s) names - please underline presenting author, e.g.  Initial. Surname (affiliation), Initial. Surname (affiliation) and Initial. Surname (affiliation)
  • Contact details for presenting author:
    • Name:
    • Phone:
    • Email:
  • Presenting author’s biography (max 250 words)

Plenary presentations

All presentations should be prepared using the SX18 presentation PowerPoint template, available below.

Presentations can be emailed to info@pbcrc.com.au at any time before the SX, or may be handed to organisers at the SX via memory stick at least 24 hours before your presentation.

Abstracts and biographies will be published in the conference handbook; presentation slides will be made available on the conference website, the PBCRC SlideShare page and as PDFs in the conference app. As this is the final PBCRC event, National Science Exchange presentations will also be recorded via video and audio.

Let the organisers know ASAP if your presentation should not be made publicly available.

Fast Science (3 minutes)

Three minute Fast Science presentations will be featured throughout the SX program.

Single slide presentations (one slide only) should be prepared for Fast Science presentations using the SX18 Fast Science PowerPoint template, available below.

Slides can be emailed to info@pbcrc.com.au before the SX, or may be handed to organisers at the SX via memory stick at least 24 hours before your presentation.
